See you Sunday, October 5th for the 4th Annual Run for Our Lives!
Run for Our Lives makes it possible to allow northerners to control how funds raised by the people of the Northwest Territories will be invested in support of breast cancer programs, services and equipment necessary in the NWT. Run for Our Lives also provides funding for national research in the hope that some day cure will be found.

Definately not just a Yellowknife event!
With the help of CIBC event organizers in Hay River, Inuvik, Norman Wells, Fort Simpson and Yellowknife, and a dedicated group of volunteers in Fort Smith, our message of hope continues to spread accross the NWT. Each community hosts their own run and contributes to our collective northern goals.

Teams, Challenges and Prizes
Teams are the backbone of Run for Our Lives and it wouldn't be a breast cancer run without them. Corporate teams, community teams and school teams are all invited to participate. In Yellowknife, prizes are awarded to the team that raises the most funds in each team challenge category. Youth incentive prizes and individual fundraiser prizes in every community are also awarded. Ask your run organizer about prize awards in your community.

Welcome 2008 artist - Rosalee Wright-Prentice
In keeping with our yearly tradition, Run for Our Lives is proud to continue featuring artwork from a northern artist on our Run material. The Run committee is pleased to honour Hay River artist Rosalee Wright-Prentice as the creator behing this year's inspirational piece. Rosalee's oil painting titled "Faces of Healing" is the fourth in a series titles "Journey Suite". The previous three pieces are done in black and white and individually titled, "Anguish", "Grace", and "Hope". The titles are self-explanatory. This is part of our experience when we are faced with crisis, in this case, cancer. As the final piece in the series the painting is done in brilliant color and has reainbows glazed over the faces. The beautiful portrayal represents recovery, well-being and restored life. These conditions are the direct aspirations of Run for Our Lives. The piece will be unveiled at our annual launch in August.
