How is Stanton governed?

Stanton is governed by a Public Administrator who is appointed by the Minister of the Department of Health and Social Services. 

Stanton’s current Public Administrator is Mr. Joe Handley.  Mr. Handley is a former premier of the NWT.

The Stanton Advisory Council, which is composed of the Board Chairs or Public Administrators of the regional health authorities, provides advise to Stanton’s Public Adminstrator.
